On July 16, Dubai became the first country to mandate (mandate: make necessary) the declaration of AI collaboration in all work.
This declaration is required for all Dubai government entities and for those working with the government. While it is not mandatory (required/necessary) for others, they are strongly encouraged to adopt the icons.
What do the icons depict?
The icons are of two types. The first category of five icons indicates the type of collaboration between humans and AI. (See below)

The second set of nine icons indicates WHAT AI was used for within the research/publication/body of work. (See below).

Who has made these icons?
The Dubai Future Foundation has created and popularised these icons.
How should one use them?
The icons can be placed in the header, cover, footnotes, or disclaimer section of a report. No guidelines are available for where they should be displayed for social media content and other creatives.
Other important things to know
While the icons are free to use, they cannot be copied by others, because they are copyrighted by the Dubai Future Foundation.
This is an important development because governments all over the world are looking for ways to make AI generated content easy to identify and treat accordingly.
