The first Dogri edition of the Constitution of India was released at the University of Jammu on 8th April 2023.
Dogri is one of the 22 scheduled languages in India. It was recognised as a scheduled language in 2004. Bodo, Maithili, and Santhali were also added in the same year.
Dogri is also an official language of Jammu and Kashmir. Dogri is spoken in the Jammu region and Himachal Pradesh. The language has a rich literary repertoire. It is the lingua franca of the region, in addition to Pahadi. Pahadi and Dogri are very similar. Even Punjabis can understand Dogri and vice versa.
The Law Minister, Shri Karen Rijiju, launched the edition during his visit to the University of Jammu.
