Delhi Police Head Constable Seema Dhaka has traced 76 children so far
Delhi, Nov 18: On August 5 , 2020, the Delhi Police Commissioner, Shri SN Srivastava, made a unique offer. The Police department would offer many rewards, including out of turn promotions, to police officers who traced missing children. Any police officer who could trace 50 children below the age of 14 (of which at least 15 children should be below the age of 8) within 12 months would get an out of turn promotion.
Within 3 months, Head Constable Ms. Seema Dhaka found 76 children, 56 of whom were below the age of 14. For this achievement, she became the first police officer to get an out of turn promotion under the scheme.
She is not alone. The entire police force has done great work. According to the data released by the Delhi Police, police personnel have found 2,629 children in 2020 so far. Out of these, 1,440 children have been found from August to October.
