Vice President & PM among the first ones to get inoculated with the first dosage
New Delhi, Mar 1: India began its second phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive on Monday, Mar 1st for people above the age of 60 and people within the age bracket of 45 – 59 with co-morbidities (when 2 or more diseases are present in the body at the same time).
Details:
- Vaccination appointments can be booked from9am to 3pm from March 1 via CoWIN website (www.cowin.gov.in) or other IT applications like Aarogya Setu. Walk-in registrations in the hospital are also allowed.
- People can register on CoWIN with their mobile number. The app gives the provision for registering as many as 4 people with the same mobile number, but they need to carry their Photo IDs.
- Vaccination is free at Government Vaccination Centre and for Rs. 250/- at Private Vaccination Centre.
- People who have received their two vaccine shots can get the Covid-19 vaccine certificate via the CoWIN portal and Aarogya Setu App.
- India has administered 1,47,28,569 dosage since Jan 16th 2021.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi took their first shot of Covaxin (manufactured by Bharat Biotech). Several other political leaders like Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Congress party leader Sharad Pawar were among the few who took their first shots today.
