Covid-19 Vaccine Latest Update: Russia to register third vaccine soon
Moscow, Nov 10: Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that all Russian vaccines against the Covid 19 virus are effective. He also said that a third vaccine is in the making, and will be registered soon, and that their ‘Sputnik V’ vaccine is about 90% effective in all the trials so far.
In another Covid-19 vaccine latest update, major U.S. pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc., and German BioNTech, claimed that their experimental vaccine is 90% effective against the virus in people who have never had a prior infection. However, this vaccine needs to be stored at below- freezing temperatures (less than minus 70 degrees), which might be a hinderance in transporting it to certain countries due to the cold chain issues.
In another surprise development, Brazil halted the late- stage trial of Sinovac Biotech Ltd.’s vaccine, after serious adverse reaction happened in a participant.
In India, Bharat Biotech’s vaccine in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research, Covaxin is scheduled to start its final stage trials across 10 states.
