Delhi, July 30: CBSE class 12 results were released on the official website of the CBSE board on 30th July. This year, due to the pandemic, the CBSE board did not conduct the final grade 12 examinations and calculated the marks through the alternative assessment formula below:
- Every subject is assessed out of 100 marks—seventy marks for theory paper and thirty marks for internal assessments.
- With the theory papers cancelled this year, the marks a student scores out of the seventy marks relied upon the students’ grades 10, 11, and 12.
- 30% of the marks in the theory paper (21 marks) was obtained from the student’s grade 10 exams.
- 30% of the marks in the theory paper (21 marks) was obtained from the student’s grade 11 final exams.
- The rest, 40% of the marks in the theory paper (28 marks), was based on the student’s marks in the mid-term exams, pre-board exams and unit tests. The school could decide which exam they preferred to give more weightage to in grade 12.
- The school’s historical performance over the last three years was also taken into account while calculating the grades.A total of 1,304,561 candidates registered for the final grade 12 CBSE examination this year, out of which 99.37% (1,296,318) of the students passed, and over 70,000 students achieved above 95%. Over 150,000 students achieved over 90%. However, CBSE stated that the results of 65,000 students are still being processed and their results will be available by 5th August.
