Carvings From Stone Age found in the Aravalis, Gurugram

Archeologists have discovered footprints, graffiti, and petroglyphs (rock carvings) of humans and animals, in a Haryana village – Badshapur Tethar.

These were found engraved on quartzite rocks. The experts find the carvings to be from the Paleolithic era, which was about 25 lakh years to 10,000 years ago.

Researchers say that the rocks have withered away due to harsh weather conditions and the carvings are clearly visible. The carvings were found on a hilltop. There are many carvings of human and animal hand and footprints. The rocks showed bird graffiti and basic symbols.

This site is 6kms away from Faridabad’s Mangar. That was where cave paintings, rock shelters and tools were found in 2021. In that year, pebbles and flake-based tools were found. The 2021 site was 5,000 hectares (50 square kilometers).
