BSF jawans run 180 km to celebrate Vijay diwas

Border security force (BSF) honored the war heroes of the 1971 war today. A 180 km baton relay race was run by 930 BSF boys and girls at midnight at the international border between India and Pakistan, and was completed in less than 11 hours.

The 1971 war between India and Pakistan was fought between December 3rd and 16th . And, this year on December 16th , India will complete 50 years of victory in the war. Lasting just 13 days, it is one of the shortest wars in history.

Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on December 16th to mark India’s victory in liberating Bangladesh from Pakistan in 1971.
