The Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Shri Amit Shah, addressed the 57th Raising Day celebrations of Border Security Force (BSF) and awarded Police Medal for bravery to the families of martyrs and President’s Police Medal for outstanding service to personnel.
BSF is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of India which was raised in the wake of the 1965 Indo-Pak war on December 1, 1965, to ensure the security of borders in India.
The Raising day of Border Security Force is celebrated on December 1 to mark its origin in 1965.In 2021, BSF celebrates its 57th Raising Day. This is the first time that the celebrations have taken place outside Delhi.
