Book Review: The Moonshot Game

This book has been written by Rahul Chandra – one of the first VCs (venture capitalists) in India.

The book is an honest account of his journey, and that of Helion Partners – a company he founded here in India.

The book is written in a simple, conversational style. The style is engaging.

Many young people are venturing out into start-ups in their early or mid-teens. While most of them may not consider fund-raise, it is one of the skills that a founder should be aware of. Unfortunately, there are few resources that tell a founder how a person on the other side of the table makes their decisions, and the price the other side of the table has to pay for making those decisions.

In that way, this book is priceless. It tells us how venture capitalists place their personal credibility on the line when raising funds, how they have to play the patience game, and what they get at the end of it.

The journey is exciting, and one goes through the ups and downs alongside the author.

This book is highly recommended for any teen looking to start a startup or venture. It is also recommended for students looking to understand venture capital as a career option. It is a story book that gives important lessons in areas in which there is a genuine dearth of honest information.

Much needed book.
