Book Review: Poached by Stuart Gibbs

Review by Vedant Hingu

The setting of the story is in Texas. Most of the part of the story takes place in Funjungle, a zoo/theme park. The season in the book is winter. The winter is not anything like a winter in Texas, at least from the main character’s point of view. This is the setting of the story.

The main character and narrator in the book is Teddy Fitzroy. Teddy is important in the story because:

1. He was accused of stealing the koala.

2. He solved the case.

Teddy was accused because he was filmed by security cameras in the koala exhibit when he was in it. The koala was missing the day after. Teddy solved the case by gathering clues, finding evidence, and sneaking around.

Teddy is courageous, clever, adventurous, and knowledgeable. He is courageous because he is very brave to solve the case and do things that everybody is too scared to do. He is adventurous in the same way. Teddy is clever because he gets many ideas to solve the case. He is knowledgeable because he knows many facts about animals. Teddy is also friendly, because he makes many friends at the end of the story.

The mystery in the story is the koala, Kazoo being stolen from Funjungle. This is very bad, because the zoo rented Kazoo from Australia for six months. Kazoo is the only koala in the United States then, so it is very important to save them.

I really liked this book. I hope who is reading this will read the book!
