Bigfin Squid Spotted In the Great Australian Bight
Boston, Nov 13: There are numerous types of squids but bigfin squid sightings are very rare. They live thousands of meters deep in the ocean. Their appearance is special as well, as the name suggests they have big fins jutted out
of their head on both sides which help them navigate in water. They also have very long tentacles which are many times longer than their bodies. As they live in very deep parts of the ocean there is very little known about them. This is the first time they were sighted in the Great Australian Bight. Also, for the first time researchers were able to get laser measurements of one of them. The specimen’s head was 15 centimeters long and the tentacles were a whopping 1.8 meters (180 cm) long.
