Big Basket Data Leak, Records of over 2 crore customers available on the Darknet
New Delhi, Nov 8: This has not been a good week for Indian companies, as far as cyber security is concerned. But the greatest shocker comes from BigBasket. BigBasket is an online grocery order firm. Many users use this app and website to order their daily groceries. Like most online stores, BigBasket has thrived in 2020.
The BigBasket Data Leak, made everyone alert once again about the ‘Dark web’. About 20 million users was stolen and offered online on something called the ‘Dark Web’. Dark Web is a place where thieves sell information that they have stolen. The breach occurred around mid-October, but the company was notified only in November first week. A police report has been filed in Bangalore.
