5,84,572 Ayodhya Diyas made Guinness world record for ‘largest display of oil lamps’, Enters World Record second time in a row
Ayodhya, Nov 14: As the dusk fell, the banks of river Saryu in Ayodhya were lightened up with more than 5.84 lakh diyas (earthen lamps), making it a spectacular view for all who witnessed it. This day marks the return of Lord Ram and his coronation as the King of Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.
‘Deepotsav’ (festival of lights) was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm across the city. 11000 earthen oil lamps were lit up at the Ram temple site. U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed an ‘aarti’ on the banks of river Saryu. He lit a ‘diya’ at Ram ki Paidi and then 1000 volunteers lit up the huge lines of lamps laid at the riverbank and in the lanes around the town. The representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records observed this magnificent ceremony with drone mounted cameras and once the record was set, handed over the certificate to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
