As a first of its kind initiative, they launched Kolkata’s first boat library meant for the young reading enthusiasts. It has been named ‘Young Readers Boat Library’. It is replete with 500 titles in English and Bengali. The novel boat library aims to make reading books a memorable experience. The library will take the young readers on an interesting three-hour-long Hooghly River tour. During this time, the readers will have the choice to choose any of the following activities – reading books, sightseeing, storytelling, dramatised reading, book launches, poetry session, music, and so much more.

The first boat library was opened by the Andhra Pradesh Library Association in Vijayawada in 1935.
