Highest number of gallantry medals awarded to J&K Police
On the occasion of Independence Day, 2020, 926 police personnel have been recognized for their achievements. Police Medals for Gallantry have been awarded to 215 police persons. President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service has been awarded to 80 police persons and Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been awarded to 631 police personnel.
Jammu and Kashmir Police has topped the list of Police Medals for Gallantry. Among those who were decorated with the Gallantry Awards, 81 are from J&K police, 55 are from CRPF, 23 are from Uttar Pradesh ,16 are from Delhi Police, 14 are from Maharashtra and 12 are from Jharkhand and the remaining from the other States/UTs and Central Armed Police Force.
Naresh Kumar, Assistant Commandant of CRPF has made history by getting his 7th Police Medal for Gallantry awarded within the last 4 years.
