Portugal, May 5: The world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge, the 516 Arouca, was inaugurated on 2nd May. It is situated in Arouca, Portugal. It gets its name from the city (Arouca) where it is situated and the total length of the bridge (516 metres). It hangs 175 metres above the River Paiga.
Before this, the longest pedestrian suspension bridge was the Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge in Switzerland.
