New Delhi, Nov 13: The India International Trade Fair is one of the largest trade fairs in South Asia. It is held every year from 14th-27th November at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. It was started in 1979, by the India Trade Promotion Organisation.
This year would mark the 40th edition of the IITF. It would be inaugurated by the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal. It would be held in the newly-established halls of the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre as well as the existing halls at Pragati Bhavan. The total area occupied by the trade fair is 70,000 m2. The theme for this year is ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and is organized as a part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. As the theme goes, the IITF’21 would highlight the spirit of entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus states are Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand and the partner state is Bihar.
What all does the IITF’21 have to offer?
The fair serves as a platform for organisations to share and spread their ideas to potential customer. This year’s edition would also provide huge LED screens for branding purposes. People would be exposed to investment and joint-venture opportunities. Transfer of Technology opportunities would be provided to all entrepreneurs. Transfer of technology is when an organisation shares its data, designs, software, and other technologies with another organisation. New and young entrepreneurs, as well as startups would be given special discounts.
Who all participate in the trade fair?
Almost all states and union territories participate in the IITF. Nearly 3000 parties from India and abroad would participate in the event. Organisations like SARAS, JUTE Manufactures Development Council, Small and Medium Enterprises, handlooms, coir board, cottage industries, etc. would be exhibiting their achievements as well. The countries participating in the IITF’21 are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, UAE, Tunisia, and Turkey.
How to get tickets and witness the event?
The business days are from 14th-18th November. On these days, the fair isn’t open to the general public. 19th November onwards, the fair is open to everyone. The tickets for the fair are available only at 65 selected metro stations in Delhi NCR from 9 am to 4 pm. Tickets are not available at the site of the fair.
