On 1st December 1963, Nagaland became the 16th state of India.
Today, it celebrates its Statehood Day.
The capital of Nagaland is Kohima.
Nagaland is home to 16 main tribes and has always worked to maintain its distinct identity.
Even though it is a part of the 7 sisters of the Northeast, the Naga people have a markedly different bone structure. Their handicrafts, featuring their distinct black and red geometric patterns, also make them stand out.
